Resume for a Pharmaceutical Position
When applying for a pharmaceutical position, highlight skills that are relevant to the position and the specific employer. |
An effective pharmacist's resume should be organized systematically. It should have subheadings that are marked clearly with easily readable font. These subsections may include the applicant's contact information, educational qualification summary, professional experience, involvement in relevant community and school activities, and personal skill sets.
Contact Information
The first thing on your resume should be your full name, typed in a font and format that makes it stand out above everything else on the page. Next, include your permanent address and a phone number at which you can be easily reached. You want to make sure that if the employer decides to call you for an interview, he will be able to reach you easily. Otherwise, he may change his mind about giving you a chance. Include a professional email address as well.
Educational Qualification
All potential employers like to know what level of education you've completed, so be sure to include it clearly. Include the name of the college or institution you attended, the degree earned, and year of graduation. Mention any other coursework you may have that is related to pharmaceutical work.
Professional Experience
Your professional experience in the field of pharmacy will be important to include in your resume, not only because your potential employer needs to know what you're capable of, but because a lot of positions require a prerequisite few years of experience. For this reason most pharmacists work as interns for a couple of years to get the necessary professional experience before they are officially employed. State the position held, dates worked, employer's name and location, and special accomplishments and results achieved through your efforts.
For example:
Pharmacy Intern December 2000 – 2001

- Evaluated and interpreted drug therapy

- Dispensed and ensured proper control of narcotics
